The Southwestern Athletic Conference will host its annual Football Media Day on Wednesday, July 15, starting at 10 a.m. CST at the Sheraton Birmingham, conference officials announced.
All 12 SWAC head football coaches and two student-athletes from each school are expected to attend. The event will include discussions about the upcoming 2026 season and the unveiling of the conference’s predicted order of finish for 2026.
One-on-one interviews with coaches and student-athletes will be available beginning at 10 a.m. CST. The full list of attending coaches and student-athletes will be announced at a later date.
The SWAC is recognized as one of the top HBCU conferences nationwide, with many alumni playing professional sports. The league sponsors men’s competitions in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, indoor and outdoor track and field, and tennis. Women’s sports include basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track and field, soccer, softball, and volleyball.
