Southern Miss Men’s Tennis to Play Three Matches in San Antonio

The University of Southern Mississippi men’s tennis team is traveling to San Antonio for a three-match road swing this week, according to school officials. The Golden Eagles (6-5) will open the trip Monday against Incarnate Word, then face UTSA on Tuesday and Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Wednesday.

Match times are set for 11 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The team heads into the trip after winning its final home match of the season, a 4-3 victory over Omaha on Friday at the USM Tennis Complex.

Incarnate Word (8-1) enters the week on an eight-match winning streak and defeated Louisiana 5-2 on Sunday. The Roadrunners will host Southern Miss at 11 a.m. Monday. UTSA (1-10) is scheduled to face Louisiana before hosting the Golden Eagles the next morning. Texas A&M Corpus Christi (11-2) wraps up the trip with a match against Southern Miss at 10 a.m. Wednesday in San Antonio.

Southern Miss will send a roster including Eric Perkowski, Saheb Sodhi, Olle Noltorp, Ritabrata Sarkar, Jay Temming, Kale Mize, Jose Murariu, Matei Varbanciu, Rasmus Becker and Julius Bult. Zubin Engineer is the head coach, and Nicolas Simkin is part of the staff.

Following this stretch in Texas, Southern Miss resumes Sun Belt Conference play March 22 at South Alabama.
