Ole Miss Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss Named to Manning Award Preseason Watch List

New Orleans — The Allstate Sugar Bowl announced Monday that Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is among the players on the preseason watch list for the 2026 Manning Award.

The Manning Award honors the top college quarterback annually and is named after Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning. Chambliss was a finalist for the 2025 Manning Award and is considered one of the top returning quarterbacks in the country.

Last season, Chambliss threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns, while rushing for 527 yards and eight scores. He has received multiple preseason honors, including inclusion on the watch list for the Walter Camp Player of the Year, Davey O’Brien Award, and Maxwell Award. Several outlets also named him a preseason first-team All-American, and he was selected to preseason All-SEC teams by coaches, media, Athlon, and Phil Steele.

The winner of the Manning Award will be chosen after the postseason by a panel that includes national media members and the Manning family. Ole Miss is set to open the 2026 season on September 6 against Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
