Ole Miss Baseball Hosts No. 9 Texas A&M for Final Home Series

Ole Miss baseball is set to host Texas A&M in its final home series of the season. The No. 20 Rebels (32-17, 12-12 SEC) will face the No. 9 Aggies (36-10, 15-8 SEC) starting Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Oxford, Mississippi.

The Rebels recently took one game from Arkansas in Fayetteville, marking their fifth loss in their last six games. Despite a recent downturn, Ole Miss boasts strong individual performances, including Collin Reuter, who hit .429 last week with a grand slam and seven RBIs. Will Furniss has hit four home runs in his last six games, and Austin Fawley has launched five homers over that span.

Ole Miss enters the series ranked No. 20 by D1Baseball and No. 23 by USA Today and the NCBWA. Cade Townsend leads the SEC in several pitching categories, including ERA (2.42) and strikeouts per nine innings (12.63). The Rebels’ pitching staff has struck out 540 batters this season, ranking third in the SEC and sixth nationally.

Texas A&M, coached by Michael Earley in his second season, holds a 36-10 record and is second in the SEC with a 15-8 conference mark. The Aggies are known for their disciplined approach at the plate, ranking 11th nationally in walks drawn and third in home runs. Junior outfielder Caden Sorrell has hit 21 homers, second in the SEC and top 10 nationally, while Gavin Grahovac leads the team with a .362 batting average.

Projected starting pitchers for the series include Hunter Elliott for Ole Miss and Ethan Darden for Texas A&M on Friday, with Cade Townsend and Aiden Sims scheduled for Saturday, and Taylor Rabe for Sunday. The games will be streamed on SEC Network+ and SEC Network, with radio coverage on the Ole Miss Radio Network.

This series marks the culmination of Ole Miss’s home schedule, with postseason play on the horizon, including SEC Tournament, NCAA Regionals, Super Regionals, and potentially the College World Series.
