Ole Miss Baseball Even Series at Arkansas with 9-3 Win
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — No. 17 Ole Miss Baseball (32-16, 12-11 SEC) secured a 9-3 victory Saturday over No. 22 Arkansas (31-17, 12-11 SEC), tying their series in Fayetteville. The Rebels jumped to an early lead with a five-run first inning and maintained their advantage through the game, hitting four home runs and totaling 16 hits.
Austin Fawley contributed two solo home runs and finished 3-for-5 at the plate. Collin Reuter hit his first career grand slam and also went 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Hayden Federico added a double and two RBIs, helping the Rebels build their lead.
Cade Townsend earned the win, allowing just four hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out six and surrendered two runs. Walker Hooks pitched 1.2 scoreless innings to lower his season ERA to 2.11. The Razorbacks scored three runs in the later innings but could not overcome the early deficit.
The series will be decided in the rubber match Sunday at 2 p.m., with the game set to air on SEC Network, according to Ole Miss athletics.
