Northwest Mississippi’s Dearman Named to NJCAA All-Tournament Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Meredith Dearman, a freshman pitcher for Northwest Mississippi Community College, was named to the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series All-Tournament Team. Dearman pitched in all four games for the Rangers during the tournament.

She logged 25.2 innings, allowing five earned runs while striking out 41 batters. Her performance helped lead the team to a 2-1 record and a spot in the second round of the tournament. Dearman’s standout game came on opening day when she threw a two-hit shutout against Cecil College. She also pitched seven innings in a one-hit loss to Rock Valley College.

Over the course of the season, Dearman finished with a 21-8 record, 19 complete games, and 208 strikeouts in 180 innings. She appeared in 38 games and posted a 2.80 ERA. Her achievements include becoming only the second player in program history with more than 200 strikeouts in a season. Her 21 wins rank fifth in school history, and her 38 appearances are two shy of a three-way tie for third.
