Northwest Mississippi Women’s Soccer Tops Pre-Season Poll
The Northwest Mississippi Community College women’s soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the 2026 NJCAA Division II Pre-Season Poll, earning all eight first-place votes, according to the NJCAA.
The two-time defending national champions are among five teams from the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACCC) in the top 25. Other MACCC teams include Jones College (No. 3), Holmes Community College (No. 5), Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (No. 6), Pearl River Community College (No. 9), and Hinds Community College (No. 20).
Heartland Community College, the defending national runner-up, holds the second spot, while Johnson County Community College is ranked fourth. The poll also features three teams scheduled to face Northwest in the upcoming season: Iowa Lakes Community College (No. 8), Rock Valley College (No. 10), and Southern Union State Community College (No. 13).
Cassatot Community College of the University of Arkansas received votes and will host the Rangers in the season opener on August 21 at the Ranger Soccer Field. Full rankings are available online.
