Mississippi Valley State Prepares for Series Against Southern

The Mississippi Valley State University baseball team aims to improve its standing ahead of the SWAC Tournament after closing April with a losing streak. The team hosts Southern in a three-game series starting Friday at Magnolia Field in Itta Bena.

Southern, with a 21-21 overall record and a 14-7 mark in conference play, is coming off a recent game where they defeated Mississippi Valley 11-0 on April 27 in Baton Rouge. The Jaguars lead the all-time series against the Delta Devils 3-0 since 2012, with their last meeting occurring earlier this week.

The series begins Friday at 5 p.m., continues Saturday at 5 p.m., and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. Despite recent struggles, Mississippi Valley State is looking to turn its season around during May. Fans can follow the team on social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for updates.
