Mississippi Valley State Athletics Achieves Strong Academic Performance in Spring 2026

MISSISSIPPI VALLEY — Mississippi Valley State University Athletics reported continued academic success during the Spring 2026 semester. Student-athletes posted a departmental cumulative GPA of 3.19 and a spring term GPA of 3.16, according to school officials.

The department noted 21 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.00 GPA. Additionally, 50 students had GPAs between 3.99 and 3.50, and 58 ranged from 3.49 to 3.00. A total of 125 student-athletes finished with a cumulative GPA above 3.00.

Nearly all of the university’s NCAA-sponsored teams earned spring GPAs of 3.00 or higher. Volleyball led with a 3.592, followed by soccer at 3.577. Other top-performing teams included men’s track at 3.377 and softball at 3.340.

“Our student-athletes continue to represent Mississippi Valley State University with pride in the classroom and in competition,” said Director of Athletics Dr. Alecia Shields-Gadson. “We are proud of their commitment to academic excellence and the standard they continue to set for our department.”
