Mississippi State’s Canon Boone Named to Rimington Trophy Watchlist
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State offensive lineman Canon Boone was named to the 2026 Rimington Trophy Watchlist, the award announced Thursday. The Rimington Trophy honors the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I college football.
The preseason watchlist was compiled by the Trophy committee in collaboration with Pro Football Focus, using play-by-play grading and school nominations. Boone, a key player for the Bulldogs, aims to anchor the offensive line for his final season in Starkville.
Boone made eight appearances in 2023 without allowing a sack or committing a penalty. In 2024, he played multiple positions on the offensive line in seven games. During the 2025 season, he started all 13 games at center, totaling a career-high 944 snaps.
