Mississippi State women’s basketball falls to Missouri 88-80
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State’s women’s basketball team fell to Missouri 88-80 on Sunday afternoon. The game was characterized by an offensive surge from both teams, with neither side backing down.
Both teams shot over 50% in the first half, and Mississippi State entered halftime with a one-point lead. The Bulldogs made a season-high 12 three-pointers but could not overcome Missouri’s offensive firepower in the second half.
Mississippi State out-rebounded Missouri by 11 and won the turnover margin, committing fewer turnovers than the Tigers. However, Missouri’s hot shooting proved decisive. Kharyssa Richardson led the Bulldogs with 21 points, adding five rebounds and four assists, her fifth 20-point game of the season.
Trayanna Crisp scored 18 points, including a career-high six three-pointers. Madison Francis added 17 points, just shy of her seventh double-double, and Favour Nwaedozi posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Jaylah Lampley contributed 10 points, tying her season high with three three-pointers.
The Bulldogs will next face third-ranked South Carolina on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on SEC Network. They remain on the road for that matchup, according to team officials. Fans can follow updates on social media or visit HailState.com for the latest news.
