Mississippi State Volleyball Falls to Rice in Jaguar Classic Final

Mobile, Ala. — Mississippi State’s volleyball team fell to Rice in four sets Sunday, 3-1, in the final match of the Jaguar Classic. The Bulldogs finished the tournament with a 2-1 record, according to the match summary.

Mississippi State lost the first two sets to Rice, 25-20 and 25-22, before rallying to take a tight third set, 28-26. The set featured 12 ties. The Bulldogs attempted to extend the match by building an early lead in the fourth set but ultimately fell, 25-17.

Lindsey Mangelson led the Bulldogs with 18 kills and 13 digs, marking her first double-double of the season. Paloma Routaboul debuted with 10 kills, and Noella Obi contributed eight kills with a .583 hitting percentage and five blocks. McKenna Yates added 12 digs while Cayley Hanson dished out 46 assists, the team said.
