Mississippi State Finishes Fourth After First Round at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Mississippi State opened the Mason Rudolph Championship with a solid first round, finishing in fourth place with a score of 1-under 283, according to the team’s athletics department.

Two Bulldogs players are tied for fifth overall after shooting 2-under 69. Dain Richie and Jackson Skinner led the team, with Skinner starting strong with three birdies in his first six holes before settling for an even score. He then birdied back-to-back holes to finish at 2-under.

Richie recorded four birdies during his round, and a long-range eagle putt on the final hole helped him reach 2-under for the day. Ugo Malcor posted a 1-over 72 with six birdies, placing him 31st overall. Jackson Cook finished at 73, tying for 40th after ending his round with an eagle on No. 18.

Garrett Endicott completed the scoring for Mississippi State with a 3-over 74. Meanwhile, Drew Wilson and Bryson Hughes, both playing as individuals, shot rounds of 80, or 9-over par.

The Bulldogs will start the second round at 8:50 a.m. CT on hole No. 1. Live scoring is available through SCOREBOARD.

Day one team leader Auburn leads with a 10-under 274, followed by Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Mississippi State is tied with NC State and Western Kentucky at fourth place.

Mississippi State’s top individual performances included Richie and Skinner, each at 69. Malcor, Cook, Endicott, Hughes, and Wilson’s scores contributed to the team’s standing.
