Mississippi State Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Mississippi State’s cross country team has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the organization announced Thursday. The team posted a 3.32 GPA during the fall semester, earning the award for academic excellence.

The Bulldogs concluded their season with their best performance in years, finishing fourth at the South Region Championships and ninth at the SEC Championships, according to school officials.

Individually, Nelly Jemeli and Naomi Jepleting received All-Academic honors. Both are kinesiology majors with a 3.52 GPA. Jemeli holds program records in the 5K and 6K, while Jepleting has the second-fastest times in those events. They earned All-Region honors at the South Region Championships, with Jemeli qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

The pair also received SEC Freshman Runner of the Week awards during the season. Jemeli earned All-SEC third team honors after the conference championships.
