Mississippi College Adds Courtney Erby to Volleyball Coaching Staff

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College volleyball announced the addition of Courtney Erby as an assistant coach, citing her background in player development, recruiting, and program management.

Erby joins the Choctaws after serving as head coach at Champion Christian College for the 2024 season. There, she oversaw all aspects of the program, including practice planning, competition strategy, recruiting, and team operations. She previously spent nearly a year as an assistant and volunteer coach at the same school, helping build its foundation through recruiting, fundraising, and player development.

“We are excited to welcome Courtney to Mississippi College,” head coach Bentley Odom said. “Her passion for developing student-athletes, combined with her experience in recruiting and program organization, makes her a great fit for our program and culture.”

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Erby works with Fearless Elite Volleyball Academy as a head coach, guiding athletes aged 10 to 17. She designs training sessions, implements advanced offensive and defensive systems, and assists athletes with the college recruiting process.

Her prior collegiate experience includes roles at Lyon College, where she was an assistant and interim head coach from 2021 to 2022. During that time, she contributed to scouting reports, practice planning, and strength and conditioning programs while monitoring player development. Her coaching resume also features positions at Valentine Community School, White River Juniors, and volunteer work at Lake Hamilton Junior High.

Erby earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lyon College in 2022, where she played volleyball on scholarship. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
