Lady Tigers Fall in Doubleheader Against Itawamba
The Coahoma Lady Tigers were defeated in both games of a doubleheader against Itawamba. In the first game, the Tigers struggled offensively, managing only zero runs while giving up 12 runs to the Lady Indians.
Itawamba took an early lead with a strong offensive showing, scoring six runs in the second inning after the Tigers committed multiple errors. The Tigers’ offense was unable to find rhythm over the next five innings, ending the game with a 12-0 score, according to sources.
The second game saw the Lady Indians dominate again, winning 19-1. Itawamba scored early and often, with a series of RBIs in the first and subsequent innings. The Indians’ offense included a home run that contributed three RBIs, pushing the score to 16-0 by the fourth inning.
The Lady Tigers managed to score one run late in the game when Laney Wallace hit a single to bring in a runner, but it was not enough to change the outcome. The game ended with the Indians’ decisive victory, according to reports.
The Lady Tigers will return to action on April 9 at the Eddie C. Smith SportsPlex for a makeup game against Jones College. Fans are encouraged to follow Coahoma Athletics on X and Instagram for updates and behind-the-scenes coverage, the school said.
