PERKINSTON — Third-ranked Jones College and Mississippi Gulf Coast split a doubleheader Tuesday at Ken “Curly” Farris Field. Jones won the opener 10-4 in 10 innings, but fell 8-2 in the nightcap. The Bobcats saw their seven-game winning streak end with the loss in the second game, moving to 26-9 overall and 9-3 in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference. MGCCC improved to 21-14 and 6-8 in conference play.

In the first game, Mississippi Gulf Coast took an early lead with Brandon Coakley’s two-run homer in the second and a sacrifice fly in the third, giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 advantage.
