Jones College Men’s Golf Sets Academic Record in MACCC

The Jones College men’s golf team finished the 2025-26 academic year with a 3.8 team grade point average, the highest among all programs in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference, according to school officials.

The achievement underscores the program’s emphasis on academic excellence while competing at a high level on the course. Head coach Bob Herrington, in his fourth season, noted that the team’s culture values both academics and athletics equally.

On the course, the Bobcats secured four top-three finishes and finished 24th in the final national rankings. They also finished as runners-up in the 2026 MACCC Championship at The Club at Ole Brook, marking their best-ever finish in the conference tournament since becoming a Division II program.

Two players earned All-MACCC honors: sophomore Drew Groscost and freshman Bastian Graf. The team is scheduled to open the 2026-27 season Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at Tunica National and the Northwest Invitational.
