Jackson State Finishes Seventh at ASU Spring Classic

Jackson State finished seventh at the ASU Spring Classic hosted by Alabama State on Tuesday. The tournament was held at Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.

Freshman JD Berndt led the Tigers, shooting a three-round total of 12-over 228. Berndt shot a season-best 1-under 71 in the second round, which included two birdies and an eagle. He finished tied for 27th place overall.

Ekam Singh finished 32nd at 16-over 232, while Kaden Tibbetts was 17-over 233. Jackson State’s team score was 60-over 924, placing them behind Florida A&M and Alabama A&M among others.

Robert Woods of Alabama State led the individual standings with a 10-under 206. Other top performers included Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul of Florida A&M and Lukas Lange of Alabama A&M.

Jackson State will return to competition in early April at the Tennessee State tournament.
