Hinds Women’s Soccer Dominates Opening Game With 14-0 Win

The Hinds Community College women’s soccer team started the 2026 season with a resounding 14-0 victory over National Park College on Thursday at Tom Shepherd Field. The Lady Eagles scored 11 goals in the first half and added three more in the final 25 minutes, according to school officials.

Belle Hartwell led the offensive attack with a hat trick. Molly Wain and Amelia Terry each scored twice, while Lily Upton, Made’Linh Robertson, Gemma Hewlett, Jordan Polk, Brooklyn Henley, Bree Saujon and Ella Rankin each scored once. Upton, Terry, Wain, Henley and Hartwell also contributed assists, with Tori Keen recording two assists, officials said.

In goal, Anna-Lynn Bishop made six saves over 50 minutes, and Clarie Garcia added two saves in the first 20 minutes. Hinds kept National Park scoreless for the entire 70-minute match.

The win gives Hinds a 1-0 record to start the season and marks an early statement for the No. 20-ranked Lady Eagles. The team will next play Tuesday against Millsaps College at Tom Shepherd Field, with kickoff set for 7 p.m., according to athletic department officials.
