Four W Track & Field Athletes Earn All-Region Honors

Four athletes from Mississippi University for Women’s track and field team were named to the 2026 NCAA Division III All-South Region Team, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.

The honorees include Noel Kellum, Malachi Morgan, Arie’Onna McCollum and Ariella Jones. Kellum, a sophomore, was recognized for the decathlon, ranking seventh in the region with 4,781 points at the University of Montevallo on March 13-14.

Freshman Morgan tied for third in the high jump, clearing 2.05 meters at the Mississippi College Opener on March 7. On the women’s side, junior McCollum posted the eighth-best javelin throw at 35.96 meters at the Belhaven Invitational on March 21. Freshman Jones ranked fifth in the region in the women’s long jump, reaching 5.66 meters at Mississippi State on March 27.

All four marks are also school records for MUW. The top eight individuals in each event and relay teams in each region earn All-Region recognition, based on year-end lists from Athletic.net. The regions match those used during the cross country season.

Head coach Dedrick Burnett praised the young group, noting that three of the four athletes are freshmen or sophomores. He expressed hope that more athletes will earn similar honors and qualify for the national championships in the future.
