Delta State Athletics Highlights Upcoming Events and Achievements
Delta State University athletics announced a busy week with multiple sporting events scheduled. The softball team’s home opener is Tuesday at University Field, followed by more softball and baseball games over the weekend. The men’s and women’s basketball teams will celebrate Senior Day during a doubleheader against Mississippi College on Friday at Sillers Coliseum.
The tennis teams are competing on the road with matches scheduled in Magnolia, Arkansas, on Wednesday and Sunday. Friday features a doubleheader against West Florida for both softball at 3 p.m. and baseball at 5 p.m.
In addition to basketball senior day on Friday, the men’s and women’s teams will face Mississippi College at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, at Sillers Coliseum. The weekend includes tennis matches Saturday morning and softball and baseball games against West Florida, with live results and streaming options available.
Delta State’s other recent accomplishments include finishing the 2026 NSISC Championships, earning a conference victory against Wheaton, and individual weekly honors for several athletes, such as Shelton, Werynski, Ciesielczyk, and Greco, from the Gulf South Conference. The Lady Statesmen secured their first conference win of the season earlier this year.
