Delta State Announces 2026 Fall Sports Schedules
Delta State University has announced the schedules for its fall sports teams for the 2026 season. The football, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s cross country teams will begin their campaigns in late August and compete through November.
The football team, led by a new head coach, will open its season on the road against Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on Aug. 29 at noon. The team will have four home games and five away contests, including trips to Missouri, Mississippi, Virginia, and Maryland. The Green and White will host their home opener during the Pig Pickin’ weekend on Sept. 5 against Wingate University. Notable road games include matchups against Central Missouri, Mississippi Valley State, and Frostburg State.
The women’s soccer schedule features five home conference matches and 11 away games. The Lady Statesmen will begin their season with five straight road matches before hosting Union University at home on Sept. 16. Other home contests include matchups against UAH, Montevallo, Auburn Montgomery, and Mississippi Christian. The team will also play conference games against West Alabama, Trevecca Nazarene, Christian Brothers, Spring Hill, and Lee.
Men’s soccer will have an even split of home and away games, with eight matches at each venue. The season kicks off with three consecutive road games in Arkansas, followed by home matches during Pig Pickin’ weekend against Florida Southern and Eckerd. The team will face Christian Brothers at home on Sept. 9 and then begin conference play against Union and UAH. Senior Day is scheduled for Sept. 26 against Montevallo.
Women’s cross country will participate in five meets during the regular season, including events hosted by Mississippi Christian, Rhodes College, Blue Mountain, and Christian Brothers. The Gulf South Conference Championships will be held at Vaughn’s Gap Cross Country Course in Nashville, Tennessee.
