Ole Miss Soccer Prepares for First SEC Road Game at Auburn
Ole Miss Soccer will play its first SEC road game of the season Friday against Auburn, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. The Rebels aim to improve their conference record after opening SEC play with a 4-1 loss to Mississippi State last week, according to team officials.
The Rebels have achieved six shutouts in nine matches this season and have held opponents scoreless in four of their last five games, according to team statistics. They have outshot opponents 131-68 and hold a significant advantage in shots on goal, 51-25. Ole Miss has earned 61 corner kicks while conceding just 27.
Eight players have scored at least once for Ole Miss, with Sarah Granno, Ava Ghoreishi, Teaghan Irvin, and Becca Skinner leading with two goals and five points each. Ghoreishi has two game-winning goals, the most on the team. The Rebels have used nine different starting lineups through nine matches, with 18 players earning at least one start. Six players, including Granno, Maizy Kluksdal, Alena Watts, Allison Kolski, and Jenna Studer, have started every game.
Ole Miss is 4-2 at home and remains unbeaten on the road at 3-0. Taylor Prigge has contributed to six shutouts, including four solo efforts, and shares responsibilities in goal with Anna Claire Jacobi, who transferred from Appalachian State, and Sienna Smart from Michigan, who joined the team this season.
Under first-year head coach Todd Shulenberger, the team is beginning a new chapter. Shulenberger, who previously coached at Washington State for 11 seasons, was named the Rebels’ head coach in December 2025. He led the Cougars to five NCAA Tournament appearances and a College Cup in 2019.
The team’s recent performance included a 4-1 loss to Mississippi State in SEC play, with Ole Miss scoring once in the second half through Sarah Granno. The Rebels outpossessed the Bulldogs at 54% but fell short in shots and opportunities, according to game reports.
Auburn enters the matchup with a 4-1-3 overall record and is 0-1 in SEC play after losing 1-0 to Alabama. The Tigers have recorded six shutouts and conceded only two goals across eight matches. Their offense is led by Dylan Driver, with three goals and two assists. Auburn’s head coach James Armstrong is in his second season leading the team.
