Ole Miss Rifle Ranked No. 5 in CRCA Preseason Poll

The Ole Miss rifle team is ranked No. 5 in the nation in the CRCA preseason poll, released Thursday. The Rebels are one of three teams from the Patriot Rifle Conference in the top five, joining No. 3 TCU and No. 4 Nebraska, according to the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association.

This marks the second consecutive season Ole Miss has started at No. 5. The Rebels finished third at the NCAA Championships last season after holding the No. 1 ranking for part of the 2025-26 season. West Virginia holds the top spot, followed by Kentucky at No. 2.

Ole Miss will conclude the fall season with a trip to Morgantown, West Virginia, on Nov. 14-15. The team will also host Kentucky in Oxford on Jan. 17. Led by second-year coach Will Shaner, the Rebels return NCAA All-Americans Audrey Gogniat and Gracie Dinh. Gogniat is a two-time NCAA air rifle champion.

The team begins its season this weekend, hosting No. 14 Ohio State and No. 18 UT Martin on Saturday, Sept. 26, with competition starting at 8 a.m. CT. Fans can follow the Rebels on social media or at OleMissSports.com for updates.

Ole Miss rifle has been active in scheduling and personnel announcements, including the release of its 2026-27 schedule and the addition of assistant coach Sara Karasova. The team also celebrated Gogniat and Dinh’s recent All-American honors and Gogniat’s NCAA air rifle championship last spring.
