Ole Miss Looks to Extend Home Streak Against Auburn

No. 12 Ole Miss was scheduled to face Auburn at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi. The Rebels were aiming for a third consecutive win over the Tigers and to extend their 15-game home winning streak, the second-longest active run in the FBS, according to Ole Miss.

Ole Miss’ home streak continued with a 31-3 victory over No. 13 Missouri on Oct. 17. The Rebels’ previous two wins over Auburn came on the road, 28-21 in 2023, and in Oxford, 48-34 in 2022. Saturday’s game was the 49th meeting between the programs. Ole Miss last won three straight against Auburn from 1949 to 1952, the school said.

The Rebels’ defense forced three turnovers in a game against Texas the previous Saturday, including two interceptions and a fumble recovery in the end zone. Ole Miss was set to face an Auburn offense averaging 25.4 points per game.

Ole Miss also entered the matchup with a 96.2% red-zone scoring rate, while Auburn’s defense had allowed opponents to score on 95.2% of their red-zone possessions, according to the school.

Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss had thrown a touchdown pass in 20 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in Ole Miss history. Chas Kelly holds the school record at 22 games. Chambliss had 1,926 passing yards and 16 touchdowns for the season, ranking third in the SEC in passing yards and tied for third in touchdown passes. Against Texas, the senior completed 25 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

The game was listed for broadcast on the SEC Network, with a live stream on the ESPN App. Ole Miss also listed radio coverage through the Ole Miss Radio Network and live audio on OleMissSports.com.
