Mississippi State women ranked 21st In AP, USA Today Coaches Top-25 Polls

After extending an 8-0 start with three wins at the 2023 Van Chancellor Classic last week, Mississippi State women’s basketball earned the No. 21 spot in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Top-25 Polls.
Mississippi State returned home from Katy, Texas crowned the 2023 Van Chancellor Classic champions following three wins over a three-day tournament stretch.
After it reentered the AP Top-25 last week, Mississippi State made one of the largest moves of any school up four spots from 25 to 21 on Monday. The latest ranking ties the program’s the highest standing in the AP Top-25 poll since Jan. 25, 2021.
Mississippi State was voted to the USA Today Coaches Poll at 21 on Tuesday, which is the best ranking in the poll since the Bulldogs were 19 on Jan. 26, 2021. It also halts a 48-week hiatus from the poll since Mississippi State last found themselves a part of the USA Today Top-25 on Feb. 9, 2021.
Mississippi State stands as one of six schools – Baylor, Tennessee, Texas UNC, UConn – that has its men’s and women’s team in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll.
Mississippi State will host RV/RV Miami (Fla.) in the inaugural SEC/ACC Challenge on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. inside Humphrey Coliseum.
