Mississippi State Volleyball Heads to Texas for Matchups with Texas and Texas A&M
Mississippi State’s volleyball team is traveling to Texas this weekend for two SEC matchups. The Bulldogs will play Texas at Gregory Gymnasium in Austin on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Central Time, marking their first-ever meeting with the Longhorns. They will then face Texas A&M in College Station at Reed Arena on Sunday at noon.
Both games will be streamed live on SECN+. The Bulldogs enter the weekend with an 11-1 record and a 1-0 mark in SEC play. They extended their winning streak to nine matches with a victory over LSU in their SEC home opener. Lindsey Mangelson led the team with 23 kills on 62 attacks, setting a school record. Adriana Jeanpierre made her SEC debut, recording her first career double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs. Three Bulldogs—Mangelson, Bernadita Aguilar, and Jeanpierre—earned double-doubles in the game.
Texas, coming off a loss to No. 3 Kentucky in three sets, leads the SEC in attacks per set with 35.05. Nya Bunton ranks fourth in hitting percentage at .408. Texas A&M, the reigning national champions, are on a four-match winning streak heading into their matchup with Mississippi State, and they lead the SEC in team assists and kills. Eliza Sharp is first in the conference in blocks per set (1.51) and total blocks (59).
This weekend’s matches will mark the first time Mississippi State faces Texas at Gregory Gymnasium. The Bulldogs have faced Texas A&M 22 times before, most recently in 2024, when State won 3-0 in College Station. The team is looking to build on its momentum and continue SEC success on the road.
