Women’s Basketball Finalizes 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule
Sept. 26, 2024 – Mississippi State finalized its 2024-25 schedule when it released the remainder of its non-conference portion on Thursday.
Non-conference action will include six games inside Humphrey Coliseum and seven total inside the state of Mississippi. Mississippi State is 18-1 in non-conference home games under head coach Sam Purcell.
Mississippi State will tip off with Jacksonville, Chicago State and Maryland Eastern Shore for the first time in program history.
State will also face off with two former assistant coaches under Purcell who are now head coaches at their respective schools in Corry Irvin at Chicago State and Michelle Clark-Heard at Mercer.
Mississippi State officially enters its third season under Purcell, who has guided the program to consecutive campaigns of 20 or more wins over his first two seasons, when it hosts Memphis inside Humphrey Coliseum on Nov. 7. Mississippi State will also take on Alcorn State on Nov. 10, Alabama State on Nov. 13, Chattanooga on Nov. 17 and Mercer on Nov. 20 in a stretch of five consecutive home contests to open the season.
Following the homestand, Mississippi State will participate in a pair of neutral site events over consecutive weeks, starting with facing Jacksonville in the inaugural 2024 WBCA Showcase on Nov. 24, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.
Mississippi State will then travel to George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands for the 2024 Cayman Islands Classic over Thanksgiving break from Nov. 28-30. The tournament bracket and times are still to be announced.
Mississippi State remains on the road in Atlanta, Ga. to battle Georgia Tech in the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 4 before making the trip to Chicago, Ill. to face Chicago State on Dec. 8.
A return to the Magnolia State will have Mississippi State take on Belmont for the front end of a doubleheader with the men’s program on Dec. 14 inside Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo, Miss.
Mississippi State heads to Monroe, La. to face ULM on Dec. 17 before traveling north to Princess Anne, Md. to battle Maryland Eastern Shore on Dec. 20.
Mississippi State concludes non-conference action on Dec. 29 when it welcomes South Carolina State.
