Tupelo Lady Wave are headed to the state championship
Tupelo Golden Wave surf past Biloxi in 56-45 victory.
Mikayla Riley was the truth all game. She really turned it up a notch after the second half. Both teams put on a great show during the third quarter.
The fourth quarter began the same way the third ended. Riley was showing off her control and leadership. She hit a nice spin move that lead to a sweet jumper for the Lady Waves first points of the quarter.
The Lady Waves built a seven point lead with 4:45 left in the game. That was until Riley drained a three from the top of the key fresh from a timeout. The Tupelo crowd went bananas.
“Mikayla Riley is a special player,” said Coach Matt Justice. “She had an ACL injury her sophomore year. She was getting back in her groove last year.”
Riley was full speed tonight. Tupelo advances to face the winner of Germantown vs. Harrison Central.
