Hinds Community College head softball coach Mike Grzanich has been named the Coach of the Year for the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) following an impressive turnaround season.
Grzanich led the Lady Eagles to the Region 23 Semifinal tournament on the campus of Copiah-Lincoln. Hinds fell in the first game to LSU-Eunice with a walk off two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Lady Eagles stumbled against in the second game to Northeast Mississippi to end the Lady Eagles season.
The Lady Eagles finished the season with a 32-16 record overall and was 21-7 in conference play, which was tied for third in the MACCC standings. THe 32 wins are the most wins for a Hinds Community College softball team since the 2008 season. Additionally, the Lady Eagles’ staff earned a 21– win improvement from the 2023 season.
