Belhaven Athletes Quincy Jackson, Megan LaCour Named C Spire Athletes of the Week

JACKSON, Miss. — Quincy Jackson of Belhaven University’s football team and Megan LaCour of the volleyball team have been named the first C Spire Athletes of the Week, according to the university.

Jackson, a freshman defensive lineman from New Orleans, Louisiana, recorded five tackles, including two for loss and his first career sack, in a 45-44 victory over East Texas Baptist last Saturday. His sack came at a crucial moment, backing ETBU to its own 33-yard line with 54 seconds remaining in the game.

LaCour, a senior outside hitter from River Ridge, Louisiana, totaled 25 kills across four matches during Belhaven’s home stand. She also posted a .235 hitting percentage and collected 32 digs during the week.

The Blazers host Central on Saturday at 11 a.m. Jackson and the football team will look to extend their winning streak. Meanwhile, Belhaven’s volleyball team opens conference play Friday at Covenant, with a 4:30 p.m. match.
