Harrell earns MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honor
Sept. 3, 2024 – After collecting 10 saves in a 3-2 victory against No. 7 Heartland last Wednesday, Northwest sophomore goalkeeper Anna Kathryn Harrell has earned MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the first conference award of the 2024 season for Harrell and the seventh MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honor for her career. The Tupelo native also earned NJCAA All-Region 23 and All-American accolades from the NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches organization last season.
In the win against Heartland, Harrell picked up her 20th career victory for Northwest. Through three matches, she has 13 total saves against two goals and has also posted a full shutout and a combined shutout.
Ranked No. 1 in the nation, the Lady Rangers (3-0) will have the rest of the week off before welcoming Southwestern Illinois (Sept. 10) and St. Louis (Sept. 13) to Senatobia.
