Troy defeated Southern Miss 55-34 in both teams’ Sun Belt Conference opener Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy, Alabama.
The Trojans relied on a dominant running attack and effective red-zone execution to secure the win. Southern Miss showcased an explosive offense but couldn’t keep pace with Troy’s ground game.
