Southern Miss Men’s Golf to Compete in Seventh Annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational

The University of Southern Mississippi men’s golf team is scheduled to compete in the seventh annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The three-day tournament begins Saturday and runs through Monday, October 5, according to the school’s athletics department.

The Golden Eagles are part of a nine-team field, including Little Rock, Oral Roberts, Kansas State, Nebraska, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, UNC Greensboro and Arkansas. This marks Southern Miss’s debut at the event, with Kansas State returning for its third appearance. North Texas and UNC Greensboro are making their second appearances.

Southern Miss enters the tournament following a strong performance in Wisconsin, where freshman John Markow won the Goat Hill Individual Championship and sophomore Jake Moffitt secured the Badger Invitational title. The team also earned the team championship at that event. Head coach Eddie Brescher is leading a roster of five players: seniors Benjamin Fernandez and Supakorn Amornchaichan, freshmen Franco Fernandez, and sophomores Markow and Moffitt.

All three players — Fernandez, Moffitt, and Markow — have won individual titles this season, marking the first time since the 2022-23 season that Southern Miss has had three individual champions in a single season. The Blessings Golf Club was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and renovated by Kyle Phillips. The course measures 7,900 yards and has a course rating of 80.9 from the U.S. Golf Association, featuring challenging slopes.

The tournament includes both men’s and women’s brackets, with the men teeing off from the back nine. Players are scheduled to start at Hole 10, with Franco Fernandez opening at 9:25 a.m. and Jake Moffitt wrapping up at 10:05 a.m. Follow Southern Miss men’s golf on Instagram (@southernmissmg) for updates or view live scoring online.
