Millsaps Golf Coach Michael Fluty Resigns After Five Seasons

JACKSON, Miss. — Millsaps College announced the resignation of Michael Fluty as head coach of both the men’s and women’s golf teams, effective immediately, according to Director of Athletics Justin LeBlanc.

LeBlanc praised Fluty for his contributions over the past five seasons. “We are greatly appreciative of Michael’s work to guide and grow our Millsaps men’s and women’s golf programs,” he said. “He brought our women’s program to new heights with the program’s first-ever SAA first-place finisher at the 2025 conference championship. His energy and efforts overseeing our programs will be greatly missed.”

Fluty began coaching at Millsaps during the 2021-22 season. Under his leadership, Annie Piggott won the SAA Tournament Medalist title in 2025, and Preston Severs placed third at the 2024 SAA Men’s Golf Championship. The college will conduct a national search for a new head coach for both programs, with the process beginning immediately.
