Jarcoby Hopson, Jr has been on fire picking up offers lately. He currently has eights offers and his latest came from the University of South Carolina. That’s his fifth SEC offer.
Hopson is a 6’2″ 206lb 2025 ATH from Lake Cormorant who I really like at the safety position. This kid can truly man the middle of the field. Receivers, I beg you not to go across the middle playing around with this young brother. He is not one of them!
He is only a freshman and he already is looking like an upperclassmen in the secondary. This kid has nice size, speed and a high football IQ. He will be one of the top names in the nation by the time his senior year comes.
“It feels great to be successful at my age, but I don’t let it get to me, I stay humble,” said Jarcoby. “I’ve been working to improve my coverage skills and working on my speed.”
He sits back in his back pedal like a smooth criminal or a lion spying on his prey. Then BOOM he attacks. That’s the best description I can give to make you visualize the way this kid gets after the ball in the passing game and running game. He closes in very fast on runners and passes in his vicinity.
Jarcoby is a very patient safety. I love the way he reads the field. He does a great job of being the last man of defense. Be sure to keep up with him over the next three seasons!
He is already doing all the right things for the gators. You don’t find too many kids that are producing the way he is at the young age. 5A is no joke in Mississippi and he is getting it done at that level.
“He is very smart and has knowledge of the game. He is a really good kid,” said Coach Christian Crawford. Lake Cormorant’s secondary coach. “I just want him to continue to be consistent everyday. Fine tune the little things. He is also a great teammate.”
