Belhaven’s Tarryn Woodall named CCS Player of the Week

Belhaven sophomore Tarryn Woodall was named the Collegiate Conference of the South Player of the Week after leading the Blazers with 30 kills in two matches. She averaged 3.75 kills and 3.13 digs per set, adding 25 digs, two block assists and two assists during Belhaven’s 1-1 week.

Woodall had 22 kills and 15 digs in Belhaven’s 3-1 win at LaGrange on Tuesday. She hit .281 as the Blazers recovered from losing the opening set. With LaGrange trailing by two points late in both the second and third sets, Woodall recorded a kill after a Belhaven timeout to give the Blazers set point. In the fourth, she had a kill during a six-point run that put Belhaven ahead 15-10, then added another to set up match point.

She totaled 47 kills in Belhaven’s two wins over LaGrange this season, following a 25-kill outing in the Oct. 6 meeting. Against conference leader Covenant on Saturday, Woodall had eight kills and 10 digs. She and Cami Davis combined for a block during a Belhaven run in the first set, and Woodall later broke a 20-20 tie with a kill. Belhaven won the set 29-27; Covenant had won 33 of its first 34 CCS sets.

The award is Woodall’s first CCS weekly honor this season and the second of her career. She was named CCS Rookie of the Week on Nov. 3, 2025. Through 23 matches, she leads Belhaven with 284 kills, averaging 3.42 per set, and has 218 digs, 35 service aces and 24 total blocks. Belhaven, 11-12 overall and 6-5 in conference play, is scheduled to close its CCS schedule Tuesday at Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama. First serve is listed for 6 p.m.
