Belhaven Punter Kyle Norris Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

Belhaven punter Kyle Norris was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after a strong performance in Saturday’s Homecoming game against Southern Virginia. The honor is the first of his career and follows his first USA South Special Teams Player of the Week selection.

Norris punted five times for 273 yards, averaging a season-best 54.6 yards. Four of his punts traveled at least 50 yards and four were downed inside the 20-yard line. None resulted in a touchback.

Southern Virginia took possession at its own 1-yard line twice. One field position setback followed Norris’ 63-yard punt, matching his season long; the other came on a 51-yard kick late in the first quarter. On the next snap, Tre Chaffier and Quincy Jackson tackled a Southern Virginia player in the end zone for a safety.

Through seven games, Norris leads NCAA Division III with a 46.3-yard punting average. He also leads the USA South with 13 punts of at least 50 yards and five touchbacks.

Norris is Belhaven’s first punter to earn the D3football.com honor and the program’s first selection since cornerback Dee Gray in 2025. Belhaven is scheduled to play Methodist on Saturday in Fayetteville, North Carolina, with kickoff set for noon.
