Belmont gets clutch plays late to claim win at Tangle on the Trail

Belmont kicked off the 2020 Tangle on the Trail with a familiar refrain with the Lady Cardinals.

They just found a way to win.

Our #1 girls 3A team took out the #1 ranked 1A team and 3x state champion Lady Panthers of Pine Grove by a score of 51-47 thanks to a clutch 3 pointer from Abby Kuykendall and stellar late defense.

The Lady Cardinals moved to 16-1 on the season thanks to their late game heroics.

Kuykendall added 12. Macie Walker put up 11, including 4 late free throws to help seal the win.

Belmont faces off against 3A foe Kossuth in a key matchup Tuesday at Kossuth.
