Valley State Athletics Preview Busy Week of Competition
Mississippi Valley State University kicks off a busy week of athletics with a variety of competitions. The softball team opens the week with a non-conference doubleheader against Alcorn State on Tuesday in Lorman, Mississippi, before resuming Southwestern Athletic Conference play later in the week.
Track and field athletes will compete at the Bulldog Relays in Starkville from Thursday through Saturday. Both the men’s and women’s programs are scheduled to face regional competitors in the three-day meet.
The women’s tennis team will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, to participate in the SWAC Round-Up from Thursday through Saturday. The men’s tennis team will also compete at the event on Thursday and Friday before finishing the weekend with a match against Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Sunday.
Softball’s conference schedule continues with a road series at Jackson State over the weekend. Meanwhile, the baseball team will host Alabama A&M at Magnolia Field for their home opener, marking the first home appearance for Valley in this season’s SWAC play.
