UT Martin Bats Come Alive to Sweep Mississippi Valley State in Doubleheader
UT Martin defeated Mississippi Valley State 12-1 in the first game and held on for an 8-7 victory in the second game of their doubleheader Saturday at Skyhawk Field in Martin, Tennessee.
In game two, Mississippi Valley State tallied 14 hits, including seven for extra bases, and scored six runs in the ninth inning. A solo home run by Aiden Meyer in the final inning brought the Diamond Devils within one run, but the rally fell short.
UT Martin, which improved to 6-7 overall, has now won nine consecutive games against Mississippi Valley State, which dropped to 2-9. The Skyhawks lead the all-time series 9-0.
