Tanner Aoki Named to Perfect Game and All-SWAC Preseason Teams

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tanner Aoki, a senior infielder for Mississippi Valley State University, has been named to the Perfect Game All-Conference Team and the Preseason All-SWAC First Team, according to school officials.

Aoki, a native of Mililani, Hawaii, led the Diamond Devils in several categories last season, including games played (41), walks (27), and steals (19). He finished sixth in the SWAC with an on-base percentage of .485 and had a batting average of .354, just outside the top ten in the league. The switch-hitter also ranked among the team leaders in at-bats (127), hits (45), starts (39), runs scored (36), multi-hit games (11), and longest hitting streak (10).

The former transfer from Mount San Jacinto Community College and Cal State San Marcos is considered a key player for the team heading into the 2026 season. Mississippi Valley State begins its four-month journey toward the SWAC Tournament this Friday at 2 p.m. in Nacogdoches, Texas, against Stephen F. Austin. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
