Southern Miss Women’s Tennis Opens 2026 Season with Three Home Matches
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The University of Southern Mississippi women’s tennis team kicks off the 2026 spring season with a three-match homestand at the USM Tennis Complex. The Golden Eagles will host three opponents over four days, starting Friday.
The season opener against Jackson State is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. Southern Miss aims to start strong in doubles and carry momentum into singles play. The team hopes to establish early rhythm and gain match experience in front of the home crowd.
Following the opener, Sam Houston will visit Hattiesburg on Saturday at 1 p.m., and Lamar will come to town Monday at 11 a.m. The team has a full roster available, including players such as Hannah Chambers, Gagana Mohan Kumar, Sakura Sudo, Miranda Xu, Kamornwan Kornsila, Pimmada Lim, Mia Hasashi-Morrissey, Celine Mosteanu, Manuella Persson, and Angelina Blinova.
Head coach Piyanart Engineer leads the Golden Eagles, with Abhijeet Tiwari assisting on staff. The team seeks to build early momentum and develop consistency during the opening stretch of the season.
