Southern Miss Women’s Tennis Match at Northwestern State Canceled Due to Weather

The women’s tennis match between Southern Miss and Northwestern State scheduled for Saturday in Natchitoches, Louisiana, was canceled due to inclement weather, according to the university.

Southern Miss was set to travel for the contest, but weather conditions prevented the match from taking place, the school said. The team will now focus on upcoming matches, including a home game against Jackson State on Feb. 13 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Southern Miss has been active in tournaments and regional competitions this season, with recent successes in doubles and singles at the UNF Invitational and the ITA Southern Regionals. The team continues to prepare for the rest of its spring schedule, with upcoming events on the horizon.

The canceled match was part of the team’s regular season schedule, which includes multiple upcoming competitions as they aim to improve their standings in college tennis.
