Southern Miss Hosts Fan Fest on Aug. 22 to Kick Off 2026-27 Athletic Year
The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Athletics will hold its Fan Fest on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium, marking the start of the 2026-27 athletic season. Gates open at 10 a.m., offering family-friendly activities and opportunities to meet athletes.
The event begins with an autograph session with the women’s soccer team in the South end zone concourse. Fans can also take photos with Seymour, the Golden Eagles mascot, as well as cheerleaders and the Southern Misses dance team. Other attractions include a caricature artist, merchandise tables selling gameday gear, and bounce houses for children. Southern Miss ticket representatives will be available to assist with purchasing tickets for the upcoming season.
At 11 a.m., fans can watch the Golden Eagle football team, under new head coach Blake Anderson, in its second preseason scrimmage of fall camp. An autograph session with players will follow the practice around 1 p.m. A cornhole tournament, sponsored by Southern Miss football, is also scheduled for that morning, with more details to be announced soon.
Attendees are advised to enter through Gate 5 on the South end zone or Gate 3 on the West side. Free parking will be available around the stadium. After the football events, the Golden Eagle volleyball team will host an exhibition match against Nicholls at the Wellness Center across campus at 2 p.m. Admission is free for that game.
