Petar Jovanovic Named SEC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Petar Jovanovic of Mississippi State has been named SEC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, following standout performances from March 11-18, according to the conference.
Jovanovic led the Bulldogs to wins over two top-25 teams, defeating No. 14 South Carolina and No. 22 Florida. He posted a perfect record in singles and doubles, including two straight-set victories over ranked opponents in singles. His wins provided crucial points that helped secure team victories in both matches.
The junior also contributed in doubles, earning two victories, notably over South Carolina’s No. 10 ranked doubles team. His efforts helped Mississippi State build early momentum in each contest. Jovanovic is the second Bulldog to earn SEC Player of the Week honors this season, joining Benito Sanchez Martinez, who received the award in January.
