Ole Miss’s Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Still on The Bowerman Watch List Despite Injury
Ole Miss track and field athlete Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan is still on The Bowerman watch list for 2026, according to an announcement Thursday. The senior and four-time NCAA champion appears on the list despite suffering a severe leg injury earlier this week that will cause him to miss the remainder of the season.
Robinson-O’Hagan’s inclusion on the list marks his 14th consecutive appearance since the preseason for the 2025 season. He was also a semifinalist after his standout sophomore year in 2024. The collegiate track and field award, established in 2009 and named after Oregon coach Bill Bowerman, recognizes the most outstanding male and female athletes nationwide.
The athlete from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, recently became the winningest men’s athlete in SEC history after his third consecutive sweep of the shot put and hammer in his final meet as a Rebel. He holds 13 SEC titles, tying the overall conference record across all sports, and has earned four national titles, 14 All-America awards, and five SEC Field Athlete of the Year honors.
His career totals include 75 NCAA points, 144 SEC points, and the collegiate record in combined outdoor shot/hammer distance (98.50 meters). Robinson-O’Hagan also ranks second all-time in indoor shot/weight distance (45.53 meters) and is featured on top-25 all-time lists in shot, weight, and hammer throw.
Despite his injury, Robinson-O’Hagan’s achievements have left a lasting legacy. His career highlights include setting records and dismantling Ole Miss records in multiple events, making him one of the most accomplished collegiate throwers in history. The Bowerman Men’s Watch List for May includes other top athletes from the SEC and across the nation, such as Texas A&M’s Chinecherem Nnamdi and Alabama’s Samuel Ogazi.
Robinson-O’Hagan’s season-ending injury is a setback for his promising future, but his accomplishments have already cemented his place among college athletics’ elite, and he remains a strong candidate for future awards and honors.
