Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Signs Guard Knisha Godfrey for 2026-27 Season

Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced the signing of Knisha Godfrey, a guard from Florida, for the 2026-27 season. The signing was confirmed Friday, as part of the team’s ongoing roster updates for next year.

McPhee-McCuin described Godfrey as a veteran who understands the SEC and possesses leadership qualities. She added that the player’s game awareness and ability to elevate those around her will be vital for the Rebels’ future success.

Godfrey played in 31 games for Florida last season, averaging 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game off the bench. She previously represented Florida at the 2025 USA Basketball 3X nationals. Before transferring to Florida, she played for Texas Christian University, where she scored 25 points and dished 13 assists across 93 minutes as a junior.

The Columbus, Ohio, native made her college debut at TCU, where she scored a career-high 26 points in her first game against Lipscomb. She was ranked as the No. 40 player nationally and the eighth-best point guard in her class by ESPNW. In high school, she helped Tampa Bay Technical secure its first Florida 8A state championship and made multiple deep playoff runs.

Godfrey joins fellow transfers Maya Anderson, Talaysia Cooper, and Emily Howard, along with returning players such as Desrae Kyles, Lauren Jacobs, and Sira Thienou. With seven players on the roster for 2026-27, Ole Miss continues to build its team through the transfer portal. Fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets now as the program aims to extend its NCAA tournament streak to six years.
