Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Secures 20th Win for Fifth Consecutive Season
Oxford, Miss. — The Ole Miss women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to six games with an 80-57 victory over Arkansas on Thursday night at the SJB Pavilion. The win marked the Rebels’ 20th of the season, their fifth consecutive season reaching that total, according to the university.
Ole Miss (20-5, 7-3 SEC) remained undefeated at home, improving to 12-0 on Craddock Court. The team scored 80 points for the 13th time this season, tying for the eighth-most in program history. The Rebels also shut down Arkansas’s offense, holding the Razorbacks to their third-worst SEC scoring output of the season and forcing 18 fouls.
Cotie McMahon led Ole Miss with 21 points, her seventh consecutive game with at least 20 points. She is within 20 points of reaching 2,000 career points, a feat achieved by only four Rebels previously. Latasha Lattimore contributed a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, along with five blocks. Sira Thienou added 11 points, four steals, and eight rebounds, while Denim DeShields scored a season-high 12 points, including four three-pointers.
Ole Miss opened the game strong, quickly building a 19-point lead in the first quarter. The Rebels maintained control through the second and third quarters, with key contributions from their defensive players and sharpshooters. The team’s offensive and defensive dominance continued into the final quarter, with Lattimore scoring 10 points alone in the period.
The Rebels will face Kentucky on the road Saturday at 1 p.m., with the game broadcast on SEC Network. Tickets for the remaining games are available through the university’s athletic ticket office.
